Up for Air

Well I have finished a few projects !!!! one for myself this one will be on going - its a junque journal and the other is my version of a smash book for a friend at work.

Beth's book is made from Websters papers and I absolutely love'd this paper - the thickness and feel was just perfect for a book.  I started off thinking on a completely different theme until I saw the paper and then changed course......................... of course........................ that's what us girls do.

So here's the pictures (as my pictures go)

the junque journal is made from a composition book -- the idea is to continually glue papers you'v designed onto the books pages -- making the composition book begin to fan out - it also makes noise with the crunching of paper, and I like that.

Next up is Beth's smash book --

her little tool kit with tabs, tape, glue, pens, clips etc

these are new flowers in at Urban and they are l o v e l y

tim holtz key that is very heavy - geesh

I love this page its a pretty pink and the typewriter is to die for ---

the fold out - so handy

flowers with seam binding ribbon works well in books as it dosen't squish

these colours compliment even tho they don't in my picture :)

two seperate pages -- lots of photo mats

pocket here

there's a pocket on the left - one on the right with two pages inside

here's the back side

my little note to Beth - I hope there aren't any typing mistakes -- I proof'd it
a thousand times......

last page and signature page

closer look of the front
well that's it for now -- will post the board book I'v made for Ambers first birthday - its close to being done -- then I have a smash (you know I have to come up with a different name for my smash books...... ) anyway I have one to make for Jenna's friend who just had a baby girl.

Tootles ladies - have a great day x x o o

oie vey

I don't know how you spell that - but oie vey ........ I realize I'm like a dog with a bone - I start something and I just don't come up for air!!!!! the house falls apart, laundry gets waaaaaay behind (there's a store, we can get more clothes if necessary) and groceries - well there's something there somewhere.

But I'm more sorry about being behind on my blog!!!! cripes - I'm sorry.  Just know I'm not sitting with my feet up eating bon bons :) However I won't give you the list of what I'v been up too because I find that personally annoying.

So here's a link to a great tutorial that you might find enjoyable - and I'll get some pictures taken on my end of the books and projects I'v been working on.

Lov ya -

Serious creative time

I'v gotta say its a real treat to just spend time in the "shop" ...... soon summer's here and time outside is important (I do love rainy days tho..... but don't tell)

Anyway I'v made a few pages - these fold to fit into a journal or you can just make a bunch of them and bind them together.  They are way cool in the flipping and folding and twisting, its the sort of thing I like anyway.

So here's your look

the last three pictures are from a different fold page -- and I have one more, but there aren't any pictures in it yet.  I saw the insert in someones album on you tube - she had made an album and the little flip page but couldn't remember how to remake it etc.  anyway I made one similar except it isn't quite finished yet.

I'll post pictures of Ambers board book for her first birthday -- nearly done, but suffering some technical difficulties :) lol!!!!!!!

Well enjoy your day -- tootles for now.

seriously exciting!!!!!!

I'v been using the new embossing folder from tim holtz - there are three folders with a punch out in different places and shapes, along with disks for lack of a better name anyway ---  I should have taken a picture of the folder too.

BUT I got so excited with the "shape" on this template you see I only wanted the spiderweb not anything else - so I taped down the oval over the area I wanted and ran the folder through.  It only embossed the spiderweb - and did a beautiful job!!!!!!!  the disk takes the place of the top plate - handy hey??? and there aren't any creases its a great emboss.  Honestly I'm jumping up and down here.  Now I can go anywhere I want with this little disk and just emboss little bits and pieces here and there.

I hope the pictures do this justice because its wonderful - available at Urban Scrapbook

have a great day everyone

the past

While I was trying to find a picture of something I did a while back I came across these tag pictures -- I love them -- I love the colours and the way they turned out period, I would say this is my "style" if there's such a thing -- AND I believe there is.  Anyway my son took the pictures, so that helped me a little.

Enjoy

a tip

Morning!!!

Well its Friday - and I have a tip -- usually it seems I have to cut a lot of the same thing -- and I'v found this little idea works really well.

I line up the two die cuts and punch a piece of card stock or light weight chip board first, this holds the two together, then I can cut my sheets of paper either to an exact size or strips or w h a t e v e r ....... anyway ------- any little thing that makes some of that cutting faster :) this really helps keep the paper level and not slip around --- I can also post-it note the paper to the card stock to help prevent shifting.  Sometimes this is more important when I'm trying to get that last little scrap of paper punched.

Have a terrific day and weekend every one -

paper paper paper

I love paper - always have - even that plain white stuff - and back in the day onion skin - that was fabulous too, especially the feel and noise....... anyway I digress slightly (only a little bit tho)

Because I love paper it is difficult for me to throw any of it away - and along with that I still love to look at it - and feel it - its a "thing".

Its what led me to joining the Canadian Bookbinding Association.  So I could keep some of that paper in a place where I could find it :)) and I still make books only now they are mostly little mini albums of some sort.  And that's because I enjoy adding pictures of our grandkids.  I like giving them away too.......

Anyway here's a wallet using the new 7 gypsies paper - this is a thinner weight so its terrific made into albums - it also folds beautifully.

The photo mats are the larger cards that come with the new paper and of course I loved the little envelopes so I can write things in there without messing up the rest of the wallet.

the wallet opens up - each section is 5x7 - with little pockets and slots - then folds back to a 5x7 size it really was a lot of fun to do -- I just finished another on but this time its more of a book format rather than wandering - anyway hope you enjoy.  And have a wonderful Easter Weedend
